Our Story
Laatz Electrical was founded in 1995 by Grant Laatz with one simple belief — that South African homes and businesses deserve better electrical workmanship and better service.
Starting from appliance repairs, Grant built a reputation for reliability, quality, and getting the job done right the first time.
Today, Laatz Electrical operates seven fully-equipped electrician teams across KwaZulu-Natal, covering Ballito, Dolphin Coast, Salt Rock, Umhlanga, and the KZN North Coast. We have delivered successful electrical installations for residential estates, corporate developments, and large-scale industrial projects — including Monza, Kyalami Park, Crowthorne Corner, and the SMD Building.
In addition to core electrical contracting, Grant founded Cable Diagnostic Solutions — a specialist high-voltage cable fault-finding division that serves industrial and utility clients across KZN.
Meet the Founder
Grant Laatz
Grant leads Laatz Electrical with a hands-on approach built on three decades of technical expertise and a genuine passion for developing people. From humble beginnings repairing household appliances, he built one of Ballito and Dolphin Coasts in KZN's most respected electrical contracting firms — handling everything from residential wiring to multi-million rand commercial installations.
Grant is also the founder of Cable Diagnostic Solutions, offering specialist high-voltage cable fault finding for industrial clients. Outside of work he is a committed family man and adventurer who believes great businesses are built on great people — and he invests in his team accordingly.
